I don't write nearly enough. I think it's because I tend to put way too much on my plate and then forget about the things I've been meaning to do. Has it really been ten days since I wrote last?

I'm sitting in my apartment drinking lemongrass green tea and listening to my friends, Jon and Felix, playing some of Jon's music. They're prepping to open for one of Cindy's drama productions.

Life is happy. :-)

I started out November 1st and stuck with it until I'd finished the first draft my novel, Waterdeep. It takes place in the same universe Connelly's story does, but at an earlier point in time. All in all it clocked in at 50,193 words. Now to write the second draft! I'm already seeing places where it can be tightened up and fixed. I've got a thick stack of paper on which every word has been printed. Soon a smattering of notes will line the margins, I'll start making outlines, and I'll be on my way to an even better version.

This summer I'm going to be trying to put together a bunch of cover songs and posting them to YouTube in an attempt to promote my band! Lauren, my bandmate, is doing the same. You'll find her videos and lyrical ponderings at http://trashpianorock.blogspot.com/

I added a short little piece I wrote on my way back from the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. I'd gone to College Cathedral in Galway the day before.

I'm working on a new website. It's almost done. The only things left are changing the design, for which I will have to learn how to create Drupal themes, and registering the domains. I was able to get this website up and going in about one evening using Drupal. Would have taken way longer had I tried to reinvent the wheel (as I've done in the past.) :-)

There are now two new sections to explore: videos and writings.

Lately I was thinking and it occurred to me that I wasn't really updating my website much anymore. This was not so much out of a loss of things to say... rather, it was out of a loss of things to say about programming, which was the focus of my previous 'site. Thus I decided to relaunch my website as ryepdx.com and solidify my web presence as ryepdx. This website will be the online cache for just about everything I create. This includes music and stories as well as programs and websites.
